Reviews

Public reviews show pressure points. Staff reviews may show culture.

Reviews are not proof by themselves. They are signals to code: repeated complaints about payment errors, appeal scripts, debt letters, poor contact routes, staff targets, training, or vulnerable-customer handling.

Method

Do not use a star rating without context.

Each review snapshot needs a date, platform, sample size, rating, theme count, company response pattern, and whether the reviewer appears to be a motorist, landowner, employee, or contractor. Review platforms can be noisy, but repeated themes can show what people are dealing with. Source routes: Trustpilot, Glassdoor, and Indeed.

Sources to capture

The first review sweep should use the same platform set for each company.

Public reviews

Trustpilot and Google

Record overall rating, review count, date captured, complaint themes, and whether the company replies with useful case routes. Trustpilot source route.

Staff reviews

Glassdoor and Indeed

Look for targets, training, management pressure, scripts, welfare handling, and whether employees describe a service culture or collection culture. Glassdoor; Indeed.

App reviews

App Store and Google Play

For payment apps, code issues, failed payment, unclear site selection, app access friction, and accessibility problems should be coded separately.

Trustpilot grade snapshot

Snapshot date: 1 June 2026. Trustpilot grades can change, and some pages are claimed, unclaimed, merged, or tiny-sample profiles. Use the grade as a public-perception signal, not a finding that every review is accurate.

Debt and legal firms

Debt letters need their own review map.

Some companies collect, some litigate, and some do both through related firms. The review register should separate ordinary debt letters from formal legal action.

Theme coding

What the review sweep should count

Payment

Paid but still charged

Typo, old registration, wrong app zone, app crash, machine failure, or bank payment not matched.

Appeals

Scripted rejection

Evidence ignored, no human review, hard-to-use portal, or unclear second-stage appeal route.

Debt

Pressure and escalation

Added sums, legal wording, fear of credit impact, multiple letters, old address, or unclear original PCN.

Culture

Targets and training

Staff reviews should be checked for collection targets, training quality, turnover, management tone, and vulnerable-customer handling.

Pay and leadership

CEO earnings are interesting, but may not be public for every company.

Large public companies may disclose executive pay. Private companies may only disclose limited director or highest-paid-director information, and some filings may be abbreviated. This should be extracted from Companies House and annual reports before publication.

Undisclosed

Accounts extraction

Turnover, profit, dividends, related-party payments, highest-paid director, and parent company flows.

Undisclosed

Leadership register

CEO, managing director, ownership, group structure, and Companies House officer history.
